Four more Bearcats ace ACT

RUSTON, La. — A perfect 36 on the ACT happens 0.19 percent of the time.

Ruston High School just announced four more.

Bearcats Harper Anderson, Siriana Kilpatrick, Trisha Pangilinan, and Sebastian Xochicale-Plunkett have most recently achieved the mark of perfection, adding to three other current Ruston High students Gavin McCown, Cedric Serio and Anhaar Wasi, who also aced the test.

“Seven perfect scores at one school — that’s amazing to me,” Ruston High Principal Dan Gressett said. “But if you knew those students you wouldn’t be surprised. They’re brilliant. I’m really happy for them and I’m glad they’re getting some recognition. It’s also good publicity for Ruston High School.”

Lincoln Parish School Board Superintendent Ricky Durrett joined Gressett in celebrating the perfect scores.

“We offer a big congratulations to the RHS students with the perfect scores,” Durrett said. “These students have gone above and beyond and excelled in their academics. Congratulations to the parents who have supported them in attaining this great honor. All of us with the Lincoln Parish School system are so proud of these students, and I want to say a special thank you also to the great educators who have made an impact in these students academics.”

LPSB President Gregg Phillips also commended the achievement of the students.

“We as a board are just so proud of these four students, as well as Ruston High School, who now has had seven students over the past two school years achieve a perfect 36 on the ACT,” Phillips said. “Getting a perfect score does not happen by accident. It takes so much dedication and work from the students, but also there is also encouragement and support from the teachers and families as well.”
