Motorist caught with machine gun

A Grambling man was arrested last week for the second time this year after a pistol converted into a machine gun was found in his vehicle.

J’Colby Robertson, 22, was arrested April 12 on a traffic stop by Ruston Police after a search of his vehicle found the handgun.

Robertson was reportedly stopped for running a red light. Officers detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Robertson admitted someone may have smoked marijuana in his vehicle recently. A search located a loaded Glock pistol with a modification consistent with turning the weapon into a fully automatic machine gun.

Robertson told police the pistol was his. He was arrested in February on another vehicle stop where an illegal weapon was found in the vehicle.

Robertson was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for running a red light and possession of a machine gun.
