Lincoln Parish School District Career Fair set for April 24

The Lincoln Parish School District recently announced an upcoming Career Fair aimed at connecting high school juniors and seniors with local businesses, industries, and trade professionals.

Through a partnership with the Lincoln Parish Chamber of Commerce, the event will serve as a vital bridge between education and employment, introducing students to real-world opportunities right here in their community.

Designed to help students explore career paths, learn about required skills and training, and even secure summer jobs or apprenticeships, the Career Fair will welcome a wide range of local employers across multiple industries—from healthcare and skilled trades to technology and business services.

District Superintendent Ricky Durrett said, “This is an incredible opportunity for our students to gain exposure to the workforce and begin building connections for their future. Our goal is to help students discover meaningful career options and to encourage local businesses to invest in the future workforce.”

Businesses are invited to participate by setting up a booth, distributing materials, and engaging with students about potential job opportunities, career paths, and workplace expectations. Employers may also recruit for immediate job openings, internships, or apprenticeship programs.

“This Career Fair is about more than just job placement—it’s about inspiration and preparation,” Durrett added. “By bringing education and industry together, we’re setting our students up for success and strengthening the local economy.”

The Career Fair is scheduled for Thursday, April 24, at the Lincoln Parish Library, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. While several local businesses have already committed to participate, organizers are encouraging additional businesses to get involved and help showcase the wide range of career opportunities available to students in our region.
