Woman caught after damaging property

A Ruston woman was arrested after she allegedly damaged a residence in Lincoln Parish south of Grambling.

Talisia Lajean McMurray, 29, was arrested after a Lincoln Parish deputy saw her leaving the area of the incident.

The victim reported someone attempting to break into his Royal Lane residence off Mondy Road about 3 a.m. April 12. The victim said the suspect left in a black Nissan Altima.

McMurray was stopped several miles away on U.S. Highway 80 while driving a black Nissan Altima.

The victim said he heard loud banging on the front door and that a surveillance camera had caught a female kicking the front door, causing minor damage. The suspect was identified as McMurray through the video.

McMurray was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for simple criminal damage to property.

The deputy’s report did not indicate if the victim knew McMurray.
