Choudrant High School’s graduating seniors were recognized at the annual senior awards ceremony Monday morning. The class of 2025 and their families celebrated their many academic accomplishments during their journey at Choudrant High.
Each student was honored not only for reaching the graduation milestone, but also for their individual accomplishments, scholarships, and awards. Several students received cash scholarships and awards donated by local businesses and churches in honor of their hard work.
This year’s graduating class was especially remarkable, earning many academic accolades. Every member of the Class of 2025 earned a silver or higher on the WorkKeys test, a nationally recognized measure of career readiness. Also, each student scored at least a 20 on the ACT and a passing GPA. Because of their achievements, every graduate qualifies for tuition assistance if they choose to pursue higher education.
As part of the ceremony, each graduate’s future plans were announced, including the colleges they plan to attend, their chosen majors and career paths. Some students planned to enter the workforce directly, while others are pursuing careers in healthcare, education, engineering and more. Several students were recognized for enlisting in the United States military, with a heartfelt welcome from Sergeant Mills.
“These gentlemen will be in the military soon,” Mills said. “We are so very proud of them, and we look forward to having them join us. As my time comes to an end, their journey begins.”

The ceremony highlighted not only academic accomplishments, but also the strong character and perseverance of this year’s graduating class. As the class that started high school during the peak of Covid, these students have undergone many unexpected challenges during their time in high school. Many students were even recognized for their dedication to success with specific awards for “Outstanding Perseverance” in different subjects.
Principal Chris Jones delivered a motivating message to the hardworking graduates.
“As you move forward, always remember that education has the power to transform not only your life, but those around you and your children,” Jones said. “Never underestimate the value of hard work or perseverance. Your journey isn’t just about accomplishing something for yourself, it’s about what you can do to change the world.”
With their futures on the horizon, the Class of 2025 left the ceremony in excitement for graduation. Carrying the values of dedication and perseverance into their bright futures, each student was properly honored for their commitment to excellence. Jones left the students with one final reminder.
“As you sit here today, remember that you aren’t just leaving with a folder full of awards. You are leaving with the tools that can change your life. You’re leaving here with knowledge of resilience, success, and the way to make a difference. You can carry on the legacy of being a Choudrant Aggie,” Jones said. “As you take your next steps in this journey, whether in college, the workforce, or wherever life takes you, know that I’m incredibly proud of you. Continue to chase your dreams, continue to challenge yourselves, and never forget the value of hard work and education. The world needs you, and we’re ready for more kids like you.”
