
Two men were charged with battery after a dispute over gas money in Ruston earlier this month.
Travontae Livingston said he and a friend were given a ride to a Cooktown Road motel on May 2 by a woman and her cousin Deundre Davis, 32, of Ruston. Livingston said when they reached the motel, he and Davis argued about gas money for the ride.

Livingston said Davis exited the vehicle, walked around to the back seat and opened the door and dragged Livingston out and punched him in the face knocking him out. Livingston said when he came to, his lip was had been burst and Davis had fled the scene.
Ruston officers located Davis on Louise Drive. He said he punched Livingston, but only after Livingston had punched him and that he was only defending himself.
Livingston was issued a summons for a simple battery while Davis was arrested for second degree battery and booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
