Lincoln Parish deputies arrested a Ruston woman after she allegedly committed home invasion by entering an ex-boyfriend’s residence and attacking a woman inside.
Aujani Amos, 27, was arrested on May 11 after a man reported she broke into his residence and attacked a sleeping woman.
The man said he and Amos had ended their relationship several months earlier and that he was currently dating the woman that Amos had fought. He said Amos came through a back door of his La. 146 residence and made her way into his bedroom where she pulled back the covers on the bed where a woman was sleeping. A fight occurred between Amos and the woman, according a deputy’s report.
Deputies saw scratches on the right side of the woman’s face.
The man said the fight ended when he told Amos he had called police. When she was leaving the residence, she allegedly stole the woman’s phone and took it with her.
Deputies found a pocket knife on the floor, possibly left behind by Amos, but neither victim saw a knife at the time of the incident.
Amos was located at her residence on Wyoming Avenue in Ruston. She initially denied the incident but later admitted going to the man’s house and getting into an altercation with the woman. She admitted to the fight but denied taking the phone or having a weapon.
Amos was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for home invasion, simple battery, and theft.
