Passenger claims drugs found in car

A passenger in a vehicle stopped for an inoperative headlight was arrested after drugs were found under his seat.

Terrence Cortez Rollins, 41, of Ruston, was arrested June 24 after a Lincoln Parish deputy stopped a vehicle with only one headlight at about 1 a.m.

When the deputy approached the vehicle, he saw a partially smoked marijuana cigarette in the center console. Rollins and the driver were advised of their rights. Both stated no other contraband was in the vehicle. However, a search located a cigarette carton under Rollins‘s seat containing two bags of suspected marijuana and a bag containing suspected MDMA (ecstasy).

A digital scale was discovered inside the glove compartment.

Rollins said the items found in the cigarette carton under his seat belonged to him. He was arrested and taken to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center where he was booked for possession of marijuana, possession of MDMA, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
