Man wanted in Texas arrested in Ruston

A Ruston man wanted in Texas was spotted by a Ruston patrol supervisor and arrested but not without resistance from the suspect.

Kino Malik Mattox, 28, of Ruston, was seen on West California Avenue by the supervisor on June 20 after receiving information the wanted man was in the area.

When the vehicle was stopped, Mattox was identified as the driver. A records check confirmed he was wanted in Fort Worth, Texas, and that his driver’s license was suspended and the vehicle was not covered by liability insurance.

When Mattox was told he was under arrest, he refused to leave the driver seat. He eventually unbuckle himself, but refused to get out of the vehicle and fought efforts to handcuff him. Mattox had to be forcibly removed from the vehicle to be taken into custody.

On the way to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center, Mattox admitted he had an ecstasy pill in a bag inside his underwear. The pill was retrieved at the detention center where Mattox was booked for resisting an officer, driving under suspension, no liability insurance, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, and the two Texas warrants.
