The driver of a vehicle and his passenger were arrested in Ruston on July 1, but not until the passenger was chased down after fleeing the traffic stop.
D’marion K. Dudley, 20, of Homer, was arrested by Ruston Police and Louisiana Tech Police.
At about 3 a.m., Ruston Police stopped a vehicle for an illegal turn at the intersection of Line Avenue and Vienna Street. An officer noticed Dudley was displaying furtive behavior and was possibly giving a false name. Dudley said he could not provide proof of an identification and fled on foot. He was stopped by use of a Taser on the Tech campus. He eventually admitted his name was D’marion Dudley. Two warrants for Dudley were located for failure to appear in Ruston City Court.

A search of the vehicle driven by Amari Douglas, 18, of Monroe, located a ski mask and a glove typically used in crimes like the recent vehicle burglaries in the area. A record check showed Douglas had a history of burglary offenses.
When Douglas was being booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center a small bag of marijuana was found in his underwear. He was booked for possession of burglary tools and possession of marijuana.
Dudley was booked at the detention center for resisting an officer, possession of burglary tools, and the two warrants for failure to appear in court on traffic charges.
