Allen is survived by his brothers, Obie Max Lee and Byron Wayne Lee; his daughter, Caryl Lee Scriber and her husband, Walter Scriber of Ruston; grandchildren, Haley Scriber Hock and her husband, Drew Hock of Prairieville, Louisiana, and Seth Allen Scriber and his wife, Lauren of Columbia, South Carolina; great-grandchildren, Spencer Hock, Sarah Hock, Chloe Hock, Leah Scriber, Isaac Scriber, Lila Scriber and Joseph Jake Scriber and a host of nieces and nephews.
Allen graduated from Louisiana Tech with a degree in mechanical engineering in 1957 and had an exemplary career in various positions. After graduating from Tech and working in the Aerospace industry in New Orleans and East Texas, Allen found himself in Houston, Texas in the late 1960’s, under contract with a company for NASA’s Apollo 8 through 13 missions. Allen was one of the many engineers that worked around the clock for many hours to help bring home the astronauts of Apollo 13. Subsequently, Allen and Sue decided it was time to move closer to home and he accepted an engineering position with Rothschild Boiler and Tank Works in Shreveport, where he worked for 15 years. He then accepted a position with Woods Tank, Inc. in Minden where he worked for over 30 years.
While Allen and Sue moved to various cities and towns with Allen’s engineering positions, they decided early in their marriage that they would always find a church home where their talents could be utilized. Wherever they served, they worked in the music ministries and the youth and college ministries, serving as Sunday School teachers and Training Union teachers, molding, shaping and influencing the lives of young people. Allen and Sue were very passionate about teaching young people and being strong and positive role models for them.
Anyone that knew Allen knew that he was also passionate about music. Even in his Tech days, he sang in the BSU choir and the Louisiana Tech Choir. In every city and town, they lived in after leaving Tech, Allen always found his place in the choir of every church that they served in. He also sang in the North Central Louisiana Masterworks Chorus.
Allen was an active member of Temple Baptist Church, where he participated in the choir and served in his Sunday School class. Allen and Sue dearly loved their Temple Baptist Church family.
Pallbearers will be Mike Causey, Ricky Durrett, Luke Fraley, Al Lee, Jeff Lee, Bob Myers and Clint Woods.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to Temple Baptist Church or the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home in Monroe, Louisiana.
