Narcotics officers raided a residence near Ruston on July 7 and located what was termed a “marijuana grow” as well as a large amount of harvested marijuana and other drugs.
Members of the Lincoln Parish Narcotics Enforcement Team accompanied by patrol deputies executed a search warrant at a Creeks Edge Circle residence about midday last Monday. Mark Lee Pate, 69, was arrested for cultivation of marijuana and other drug charges.
During the course of the search, authorities located a marijuana growing operation inside a shop located on the property. Numerous marijuana plants were found in addition to lighting and watering systems and various tools and equipment for marijuana cultivation.
According to an arrest report, Pate came home during the search and told agents where alprazolam could be found in his bathroom. A large amount of marijuana was found in various containers in the bathroom. Several firearms and instruction books on growing marijuana were found in the master bedroom closet. A single Adderall pill (dextroamphetamine) was found on the bedroom nightstand.
Pate was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of Adderall, possession of alprazolam, possession of drug paraphernalia, and illegal possession of firearms in the presence of a controlled substance.
