Man charged after dragging woman from home

A Ruston man was arrested last week after he allegedly entered a woman’s house without permission, dragged her outside, and attempted to place her in his vehicle.

Ryan Christopher Priestley, 24, was located after investigation at the scene and arrested on several felony charges.

Lincoln Parish deputies responding to the scene of the incident on Heard Road found a woman with obvious injuries to her neck, face, and right arm. She was also having difficulty speaking. An ambulance responded to the scene render aid.

The woman said Priestly had been coming to her house over the past three days and had been run off by family members. On July 11, he entered the woman’s residence without permission, dragged her outside by her ankles and attempted to place her in his Jeep Wrangler. The woman said she was able to latch onto the running board of the Jeep and at that point, Priestly put her in a chokehold and dragged her into the Jeep by her neck where he hit her several times.

The woman said while the two were in the vehicle, Priestly was also attempting to get her son to enter the Jeep. The woman said she screamed for a family member inside the house and left Priestly when the woman and her son would not go with him.

Presley was later located in a business on the North Service Road in Ruston and arrested. He refused to make any statement. A deputy observed injuries on Priestly’s hands consistent with a physical altercation. Priestly also had a bruised eye. He was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for home invasion, two counts of attempted kidnapping, and battery of a dating partner.
