She is survived by her husband of 61 years, James R. Davis (Jimmy) of Choudrant, LA; son, John Davis (Amanda); daughter’s, Lois Davis and Mary Trumbetta (Jason); six grandchildren, Charlie Davis, Elizabeth Davis, Hagen Davis, Riley Davis, Wyatt Trumbetta and Easton Trumbetta; brother, George Miller (Marie); sister-in-law, Donna Miller; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mavis Davis was one of a kind.  Those who knew her know what I am talking about. She was outspoken and outgoing. She never met a stranger.  Mavis was the cook at Camp Alabama and Medcamps for 25+ years.  She had a heart for Medcamps and the children and staff of Medcamps.

Memorial donations can be made to Medcamps of Louisiana and Operation Smile (her other charity of choice) in her honor.

She met Jimmy Davis at a young age, they were married 61 years, and she loved him dearly. They truly completed each other. She loved her family fiercely, immediate and extended. She loved her friends the same as she loved her family.

Mavis was one heck of a cook.  She was known far and wide for her delicious food.  Cooking was a love language for her.  She was also generous and caring. Mavis was known to slide family, friends, and complete strangers cash in their hands quietly, so no one would know.

Special thanks to all her caregivers; Tammie Morgan Viator went above and beyond for our Mom; Veronica Hayes, Melissa Thomas, Lynette Boyd, Romesica Reed and Vonika Reed were very caring and compassionate.   And a special thanks to Best Home Health and Premiere Hospice for all they did for Mom.

Pallbearers will be Hagen Davis, Riley Davis, Bubba Miller, Nathan Hopkins, Jacob Matthews, Jason Trumbetta.  Honorary pallbearers are Wyatt Trumbetta and Easton Trumbetta.
