Louisiana State Police arrested an Arkansas man after he was involved in a hit and run crash in Lincoln Parish last Friday night.
Austin B. Rogers, 23, of Hamburg, Ark., was stopped on U.S. 167 in Jackson Parish after receiving the description of the suspect vehicle from a motorist following him.
A state trooper responded to the scene of the stop to investigate.

Rogers told the trooper he left a Ruston establishment and headed south on U.S. 167 where he made contact with another vehicle but did not think it was very serious. He continued south until he was stopped by Hodge Police and Jackson Parish deputies after he was followed by the victim.
The trooper asked Rogers if he had consumed any alcoholic beverages and he said he had four beers and one shot of liquor. Rogers performed poorly on field sobriety tests administered by the trooper.
A breath test was administered at the Jackson Parish jail, indicating Rogers’s blood alcohol concentration was .11g%. Rogers was booked at the jail and then transferred to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center where he was booked for first offense DWI, hit and run, and careless operation of a vehicle.
