Motorist found with drugs

A Grambling man was arrested Saturday night after he was stopped for an improperly displayed license plate and was found to be in possession of several types of drugs.

Isaiah J. Heard, 33, was stopped when a Grambling police officer noticed the license plate on his Chevrolet Impala was unreadable.

During the traffic stop, the officer smelled the odor of marijuana and saw a bag of suspected marijuana in plain view on the driver’s seat.

Heard was taken into custody and a search located several pills, including ecstasy (MDMA), hydrocodone, a Taurus .40 caliber pistol, and a 12 gauge shotgun.

Heard claimed ownership of all the narcotics found in the vehicle, according to a GPD report.

Heard was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for possession of hydrocodone, possession of MDMA, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone, possession of marijuana, and improper display of license plate.
