Louisiana Tech’s Kalli Matlock, a defender for the Bulldog Soccer team the last five years, has been nominated for the 2025 NCAA Woman of the Year.

Matlock was a mainstay on the pitch for LA Tech, appearing in 78 career matches while making 64 starts on the back line. She rarely came off the field, totaling 5,180 minutes of action while going the distance in 13 matches during her five-year career with the Bulldogs.

The Shreveport, Louisiana native was part of 19 career shutouts while also contributing on the offensive end as a wing back. Matlock registered 35 career points including 13 goals and nine assists.

Her collegiate career came to an end this past season when she tied the team high for points (six) and goals (threes) in route to being named Second Team All-Conference USA.

Matlock was also a two-time Honorable Mention All-Louisiana selection and was voted to the CUSA All-Tournament Team in 2023 when the Bulldogs hosted the conference championship at Robert Mack Caruthers Field. Matlock would score the game winner in the 1-0 victory over WKU to advance to the semifinals.

Matlock, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology with a 3.84 cumulative grade point average, racked up plenty of academic honors during her time at LA Tech. She was a three-time CSC Academic All-District selection and was voted to the CUSA All-Academic Team in 2023.

She was also a five-time CUSA Commissioner’s Honor Roll recipient as well as a five-time CUSA Commissioner’s Academic Medalist.
