Ruston man booked for molesting child

A Ruston man was charged with molesting a 4-year-old child after an investigation by the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Demontre Washington, 30, of West Carolina Avenue, was arrested Saturday and booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention center for sexual battery and indecent behavior with a juvenile.

According to an LPSO report, a deputy responded to a Rock Corner Road residence in response to a call about a sexual battery of a juvenile. When the deputy arrived, Washington was standing in the roadway in front of the residence with his hands in the air.

After the deputy took Washington into custody, the man asked the deputy to kill him.

The child, her mother, and grandmother were interviewed by the deputy. The mother said she found Washington in bed with her 4-year-old daughter. The mother said she removed the covers from the bed and found Washington’s pants were down.

Information given by the child and the mother indicated to the deputy that a sexual battery had occurred.

Washington was taken to the Sheriff’s Office where he made admissions regarding the incident.

Washington’s bail amount was not available at publication time.
