Funeral services for Brody Dean Telford, age 80 of Ruston, LA will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 16, 2025 at the Ruston Church of Christ with Mr. Jim Davis, and Mr. Casey Clement officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.
Brody was born January 8, 1945 in Ruston, LA to Ray S. Telford and Vera Mabry Telford and passed away Monday, August 11, 2025 in Ruston, LA. He graduated from Ruston High School in 1963 and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Louisiana Tech University in 1969. He became a building contractor first with Telford Brothers Builders and then with Ray Telford and Son. Brody was an avid hunter and fisherman and was active in Ducks Unlimited. A life-long member of Ruston Church of Christ, Brody over saw the maintenance of church facilities after his retirement.
Brody was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Betty Telford Sorey. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joy Hinton Telford of Ruston, LA; son, Brice Telford and wife Christina; grandson, Connor Telford; granddaughter, Gretchen Telford, all of Prairieville, LA; sister, Pat Hobson of West Monroe, LA; brother-in-law, Douglas Hinton and wife Donna of Jacksonville, FL; sister-in-law, Carole and husband Mike Davis of Ft. Collins, CO; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews, and a host of friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie Hobson, Ray Sorey, Connor Telford, Ken Telford, Jimmy Telford, and Sammye Telford. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Hall, Edwin Davis, Malcolm George, Jimmy George, and Dannye Telford.
