Man arrested after complaints of disturbance

A Choudrant man was arrested last week after he allegedly caused a disturbance in a Ruston convenience store.

Daulton Dwayne Bassett, 30, was arrested August 15 after Ruston Police officers responded to a store on West Woodward Avenue regarding a disturbance.

A Bienville Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy informed RPD officers that he witnessed Bassett yelling and cursing at people at the store. The deputy’s call was one of two received by the police department regarding a disorderly man.

A records check showed Bassett was wanted in several states, including California and Arizona, but the warrants did not authorize detaining him in other states. Additionally, Bassett was previously arrested just days earlier for disturbing the peace on August 11 after he reportedly caused a disturbance at the Walmart Supercenter in Ruston.

For this date, Bassett was arrested for disturbing the peace and booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
