Man booked for drugs on campus

An Illinois man was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute on the Grambling State University campus last week.

Nevaeh Dunchez Clinkscales, 20, of Chicago, was arrested after the car he was riding in was stopped for running a stop sign and he was found in possession of marijuana.

At about 9 p.m. a Grambling police officer saw a black Hyundai run a stop sign on Central Avenue. While speaking with the driver, the officer smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

A search located two bags of marijuana inside the center armrest and a Glock 9mm pistol in the trunk.

When Clinkscales was searched, the officer retrieved two plastic bags of marijuana in his pockets. None of the passengers in the vehicle claimed ownership of the pistol.

Clinkscales was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and violation of the Uniform Controlled Substances Drug-Free Zone law.
