Man abuses relative, elbows officer

Ruston Police arrested a local man earlier this week after he allegedly abused a family member and then struck his arresting officer.

Adam Davis, 19, of Ruston, was arrested Sept. 8 after his relative reported he had shoved her for coming into his bedroom.

When an officer attempted to talk to Davis, he uttered a profanity and said, “I’m giving y’all nothing, do what you gotta do.” He placed under arrest and handcuffed.

As Davis was being escorted to a patrol car, he elbowed the officer in the chest knocking off his body-worn camera. Davis was restrained and placed in a patrol car. He was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for domestic abuse battery, battery of a police officer, and resisting an officer.
