A West Monroe man has been arrested for possession of child pornography.
On September 10, Louisiana Bureau of Investigation (LBI) agents arrested Verdrell Cardre Wyatt, Jr., 21, of West Monroe, for 25 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material.
LBI agents initiated the investigation after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
This arrest was the result of a joint investigation with the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation of the Office of the State Attorney General, the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office, Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, West Monroe Police Department, and the FBI.
Wyatt was booked into the Ouachita Parish Correctional Center.
“Day or night, if you harm our kids, we’re coming for you,” said Attorney General Liz Murrill. “I’d like to thank deputies with the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office, officers with the West Monroe Police Department, and the FBI for their hard work and assistance on this case.”
The investigation is ongoing, according to the LBI.
