A Choudrant man was arrested in Ruston last week after he allegedly tried to kick open the door of a residence, violating a protective order.
Benton Bullard, 51, was arrested Oct. 8 after Ruston Police responded to a South Trenton Street residence. The victim told police that Bullard had come to the house multiple times and, during the last visit, attempted to kick in the door. Officer saw damage to the door frame and that the victim had placed chairs blocking the door to keep Bullard out.

The victim also said his bicycle was missing. Bullard was located nearby on Charlotte Avenue on the bicycle. He denied all allegations.
Police verified a protective order ordering Bullard to stay away from a woman who lived at the residence. He was arrested for theft, simple criminal damage to property, and violation of a protective order and booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
