Man arrested for second DWI and warrant

A Winnsboro man was arrested in Ruston for his second DWI this year after he was stopped for not wearing a seatbelt.

Bry’trayvious Byrun Latral Millsaps, 26, was charged with numerous traffic offenses after he was a stopped by a Louisiana state trooper about 8:30 Saturday morning.

Millsaps said he and a passenger had been at a party all night and he was headed home. The trooper detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Millsaps’s breath.


A record check showed Millsaps’s driver’s license was under suspension and his temporary license tag had expired. A warrant was found for failure to appear in Ruston City Court in 2021.

Millsaps was arrested and taken to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center where he refused to submit to a breath test. He was booked for a second offense DWI, no seatbelt, driving under suspension, failure to register a vehicle, and expired temporary license tag.

Millsaps was previously arrested for DWI in July in Arcadia.
