Graveside services for Tonie McCullin, age 81 of Ruston, LA will be held at 4:00 PM, Friday, November 7, 2025 in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Ruston under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.
Tonie Joelynn Slaton McCullin, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend was born on September 16, 1944 to Lucy and Joel Slaton and passed away peacefully Monday, November 3, 2025 in Ruston, LA. Tonie was a devoted animal lover, known for her gentle care and deep affection for all creatures great and small. Her home was a haven for horses, cows, chickens, donkeys, dogs, cats, and any other animal in need of love and shelter. Her compassion extended beyond animals to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Tonie’s greatest joy came from her grandchildren, whom she loved fiercely and unconditionally.
Tonie lived a life full of compassion, strength, and unwavering love. Her legacy is one of kindness, devotion, and a heart full of love. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all the lives she has touched.
Tonie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James McCullin; and brother-in-law, Jerry Rogers. She is survived by her daughters, Jamie and husband Todd Futch and Jeannie and husband Kevin Reynolds; cherished grandchildren, James “Jake” Reynolds and Amelia Reynolds; sister, Margaret Rogers; nieces, Sandra Maddry and Lisa Sullivan; and a host of other family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Reynolds, Jake Reynolds, Todd Futch, Alan Futch, and Lance Futch. Honorary pallbearer is David Frasier.
Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM, Friday at Owens Memorial Chapel.
