Recreation, Sports, & Holiday Fun for All Ages! 

Ruston Parks & Recreation is bringing the winter spirit to life with a full season of sports, fitness, and festive events. From youth indoor leagues to holiday celebrations and community gatherings, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this winter with RPAR! 

Youth Leagues 

Winter Basketball 

Ages: 5–12 (as of September 30, 2025) 

Location: Ruston Sports Complex – Indoor Facility 

Registration: November 3, 2025 – January 5, 2026 

Season Dates: January–March 

Game Days: Monday evenings starting February 2 

Cost: $65 for Ruston residents / $75 for non-residents 

Get ready for another exciting basketball season at the Ruston Sports Complex! Our youth league focuses on fun, fundamentals, and teamwork in a supportive setting for all skill levels. 

Volleyball 

  • RPAR’s Winter Volleyball League will feature divisions for 5th–6th grade girls, coached in partnership with the Ruston High School volleyball team. Players will learn serving, setting, and teamwork in a fast-paced, encouraging environment. Registration Closes November 17. Games and practices will take place in December at the Ruston Sports Complex Indoor Facility. 

“Christmas at the Complex” 

This winter, dash through the night at the Ruston Rudolph Run 5K and Cozy up for Cookies & Cocoa with Santa, and our cheerful Christmas Movie & Cocoa Night. Plus, don’t miss the return of RPAR Ice Skating, a winter tradition for all ages. RPAR has something for everyone to make this holiday season merry and bright! 

Ruston Rudolph Run 5k 

Thursday, December 18th, 2025 

6:30 p.m. 

Ruston Sports Complex, starts at Indoor facility 

REGISTRATION: All ages can register for the 5K online using this link 

ENTRY FEE- $25 through November 16th (includes T-shirt) 

LATE ENTRY FEE- $30 from November 17th through Race day 

(includes T-shirt, while supplies last)

RPAR Ice Skating 

Dates: December 1, 2, 4, 8, 9, 11, 15, 16, 18, 29, and 30 (4–7 p.m.) | Saturday, December 20 (12–2 p.m.) Location: Ruston Sports Complex 

Cost: Free 

Skates are available for use. Enjoy free family skating sessions all month long, no registration required! 

Cookies & Cocoa with Santa 

Dates: Saturday, December 20, 2025 

Time: 9–11 a.m. 

Location: Ruston Sports Complex – Indoor Facility 

Cost: Free 

Come enjoy hot cocoa, cookies, and a special visit from Santa Claus! Bring your camera for photos and help spread holiday cheer with family and friends. 

Christmas Movie & Cocoa 

Date: Saturday, December 20, 2025 

Time: 5:30–8:00 p.m. (Movie starts at 6:00 p.m.) 

Location: Ruston Sports Complex – Indoor Facility 

Cost: Free 

Join us for a cozy evening with hot cocoa and a favorite Christmas movie on the big screen, the perfect way to wrap up a day of holiday fun! 

Seniors 

Senior Adult Fitness Program 

Designed for individuals 55+ who want to improve their heart health, get stronger, and move their bodies! With multiple group exercise classes a week and exciting events and activities each month, you definitely want to be a part of this. This program is a great way to practice a healthy lifestyle, make friends, and engage within your community! Come try out our program for FREE, then join for just $10 a year!

Classes Offered: 

Strength & Stretch: This full-body workout combines chair exercises with functional strength training to improve overall strength and flexibility. Using seated exercises and light resistance training along with targeted stretches, this class helps build the mobility and endurance needed for everyday activities. 

Cardio Mix: Join our dynamic and engaging cardio mix class for senior adults! Enjoy low impact dance, balance, mobility, & aerobic exercises that promote heart health. Get ready to be up on your feet & put some pep in your step! 

ZUMBA: Zumba is a fun and upbeat form of exercise to get your heart rate up and body moving. This class features a mixture of different dance-style movements that together create a fun aerobic interval workout. If you enjoy upbeat music and dancing, this class is sure to be a good time!
