Cedar Creek, Ruston High to play in the Origin Bank Classic at the Thomas Assembly Center

Senior Caroline James and the Lady Cougars will face Neville at the Origin Bank Classic hosted at the Thomas Assembly Center Nov. 29.

Some of the top high school girls basketball players and teams in north Louisiana will be on display when Cedar Creek hosts the inaugural Origin Bank Classic in late November on the campus of Louisiana Tech.

The eight-team, four-game event will take place on Saturday, November 29 at the Thomas Assembly Center.

“We’re excited to be part of the inaugural Origin Bank Classic at Louisiana Tech,” said Cedar Creek head coach Katie Hall. “It’s a great opportunity for our girls to compete in a college environment against some of the top programs in North Louisiana.”

The eight teams participating will include Cedar Creek School, Ruston High School, Arcadia High School, West Monroe High School, Neville High School, Sterlington High School, Oak Grove High School, and Haughton High School.

“Origin Bank is proud to support girls high school basketball in north Louisiana through this event which features some of the top teams along the I-20 corridor,” said Origin Bank Lincoln Parish Market Leader Jeff Parker. “We understand the value of the high school athletic experience for these young ladies, and we salute all the young women who are going to be competing in this showcase event.”

All four games will be played on Karl Malone Court at the Thomas Assembly Center. The day begins with the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs hosting Alcorn State at noon followed by four high school varsity girls’ basketball matchups.

The high school games include Ruston High vs. Oak Grove (2:30 p.m.), Cedar Creek vs. Neville (4 p.m.), West Monroe vs. Haughton (5:30 p.m.) and Sterlington vs. Arcadia (7 p.m.).

“This event also represents more than basketball—it’s about growth, competition, and pride in North Louisiana girls’ basketball,” said Hall. “Competing on the Louisiana Tech campus is an honor for our program and a moment our players will remember for a long time.”
