
Funeral services for Mark Grafton, age 43 of Bernice, LA will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, November 9, 2025 at Owens Memorial Chapel with Bro. Tony Walton and Bro. Ben Walton officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah Cemetery in Bernice, LA under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.
Mark was born January 24, 1982 in Ruston, LA to Hilda and Edward Grafton and passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2025 in Dubach, LA. He grew up surrounded by family, faith, and a love for the outdoors that shaped his life. Mark loved the outdoors – hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature brought him peace and joy. Known for his big heart, sense of humor, and generous spirit, Mark never met a stranger. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome, whether through a good laugh, a shared meal, or one of his famous home-cooked dishes.
Mark was the proud owner of Grafton Services, where his hard work and dedication turned his passion for dirt work into a successful and respectful business. He took great pride in his craft and the friendships he built through it.
Mark was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Helen and Stuart Harper of Eudora, AR; paternal grandparents, Ruby and B.F. “Ben” Grafton of Ruston, LA; and his in-laws, Barbara and James Ellis.
Mark deeply cherished his family, especially his wife, Brittani Ellis Grafton; son, Harper Grafton, who brought tremendous joy to his life; daughter, Macey Grafton, whom he loved very much. He looked up to his brother, Scott Grafton, who was not only his brother, but his greatest role model and closest friend. Mark is also survived by his parents, Hilda and Eddie Grafton; sister-in-law, Jennifer Grafton; nephew, Wyatt Grafton; and a host of other family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tracy Farrar, Neil Douglas, Eric Bryan, Steve “Bull” Craighead, John Cook, Branson Ellis, Benjamin Grafton, Jerry Grafton, and Alan Curry. Honorary pallbearers will be the Bernhard Family and Jonathan Grafton.
Mark will be remembered for his kindness, humor, hard work, and the love he shared so freely with others. His legacy of laughter, compassion, and genuine friendship will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Visitation will be 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Sunday, November 9, 2025 at Owens Memorial Chapel in Ruston.
