Louisiana Tech golf head coach Matt Terry announced Thursday the signing of two talented newcomers for the 2025-26 season – Jack Morris of Tupelo, Mississippi, and Will Hindemit of Erin, Ontario, Canada.
“I am excited to add these two guys to our team next year,” said Terry. “Both young men got to compete in the U.S. Junior this past summer, which is going to be valuable experience as they transition to Division I college golf. They are both extremely talented and good students, and I am looking forward to seeing what each of them bring to the table come next fall.”
Morris, a 5-foot-11 right-hander, brings an impressive prep resume from the Magnolia State to Ruston. The Tupelo High product captured the 2025 Mississippi Junior Amateur title after rallying from four shots back following the opening round. He surged to the top of the leaderboard with a tournament-low 5-under 67, finishing with a 6-under 210 overall.
The victory qualified him for the 2025 USGA Junior Amateur that was played at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas, Texas. A three-time MAC All-Star and 2024 All-Star MVP, he recorded a 67.4 scoring average this past season in high school, capping off his senior year with a 4th-place finish at the Mississippi Class 7A State Championships to help Tupelo finish runner-up.
Morris, who said he chose LA Tech because of his “love for coach Terry, the golf course, and the environment,” was second individually as a junior in the state championship.
Hindemit joins LA Tech after an accomplished career on the Canadian circuit. The 6-foot-2 right-hander tied for 19th at the Canadian Junior Boys Championship and, like Morris, qualified for and competed in the 2025 USGA Junior Amateur in Dallas, Texas.
He also produced standout performances in several other national events, including a T-20 finish at the Ontario Junior Amateur highlighted by a 4-under 68, and a T-14 showing at the NxtGen Quebec Championship.
Hindemit,” who said he chose LA Tech because “it felt like home away from home,” also captured the Ontario Champion of Champions Tournament.
“Will is a young man that I have not gotten to see a ton, but I enjoyed watching him at the Canadian Junior where he finished top 20,” Terry added. “I was really impressed with Jack’s final high school season this fall, averaging a little over 67. I am excited for both guys to have a huge impact on our team.”
