
A New Orleans woman stopped on Interstate 20 for speeding near Ruston was arrested on drug charges Nov. 7.
Taliyah Allen, 20, was clocked on radar by Lincoln Parish deputy at 82 miles per hour in a 70 mph zone. With a deputy approached the vehicle, he detected the odor of green marijuana coming from inside. Alan, the driver, and a passenger, were checked for warrants, and it was found Allen was wanted for a possession of a controlled substance on Third District Court warrant.

A search of the vehicle located a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana which Allen claimed was hers.
Allen was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for speeding, no driver’s license, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and the warrant for possession of a controlled substance.
