Carson Carrico and Brayden Pye combined for 38 points to lead Choudrant High School to a 59-43 win over the host Calvin in the Cougars two-day tournament.
The Aggies (5-2) advanced to the title game by defeating Saline 66-58 behind 15 points by freshman Turner Rhodes.
“I am very proud of the effort from the guys,” said head coach Ryan Smith. “We were coming off a real battle (Friday) night, and I love how they remained focus on our keys for tonight. We relied heavily of our depth both games. It’s such a positive when you can go to your bench as often as we had to this tournament.”
In the title game on Saturday, Carrico and Pye combined for 12 first quarter points as the Aggies raced out to a 17-9 lead after eight minutes of action.

The second quarter saw more of the same.
Both young men netted nine points each in the frame as Choudant extended its lead to 38-19 at the break.
Rhodes connected on a three and four different Aggies scored in the third quarter as Choudrant was able to maintain it’s lead on the scoreboard (51-34) heading into the fourth quarter.
Carrico and Jackson Ambrose combined for the only eight points of the final eight minutes of action for Choudrant who coasted to their fifth win of the season.
Jalen Wise led Calvin with 13 points.
The Aggies will host West Ouachita Tuesday and D’Arbonne Woods Friday.
