Man, woman arrested over protective order violation

A man and a woman were arrested on charges related to violation of a protective order after Lincoln Parish deputies responded to a disturbance last week.

Paul Jacob Letterman, 37, of Calhoun, and Crystal Williamson 41, of Choudrant, were arrested November 24 after an investigation of an incident on Pleasant Grove Road.

A caller reported hearing yelling and other noises coming from a nearby residence. Records showed Williamson lived at that residence and had a protective order in place against Letterman. Letterman was wanted on warrants from Ouachita Parish.

Responding deputies saw Williamson on the front porch and observed her run frantically back inside the residence, but then came back outside.

Williamson said she and her fiancé, Letterman, had argued earlier in the day. When asked if Letterman was still there, she said no. When I asked where he went, Williamson said she did not know, but he had he left walking and someone picked him up down the road.

When Williamson was asked if they could check the residence for Letterman, she denied entry and stated only if the deputies had a search warrant.

Several announcements were made by public address system for Letterman to come outside with his hands up, but he did not respond. A neighbor said Williamson and Letterman had been fighting for a couple of days.

Williamson was told if she harbored Letterman inside and he was found pursuant to a search warrant, she would be arrested as well.

A search warrant was obtained to search the residence for Letterman. He was found in a bedroom and placed under arrest for violation of the protective order, resisting an officer, and two bench warrants from the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office for violation of a protective order and domestic abuse battery.

Williamson was arrested for obstruction of justice. Both were booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
