Robert Lesley Petermann, 68, of Dubach, Louisiana, returned home to our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 25th, 2025. Robert was surrounded by his loving wife and daughters and left our world peacefully after our Lord God told him that his battle was over. Robert was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. His laughter and warmth is not something that will soon be forgotten.
Robert began his working career as a Journeyman Welder before retiring as a Master Diesel Mechanic. He was a skilled carpenter, and was quick to pass on his technical knowledge to anyone who asked. His sense of humor was always on display, and he never missed an opportunity to lighten the mood. Although he never said it outright, it was obvious that his happiest accomplishment was being “Papaw” to his many grandchildren. He enjoyed firing up the grill during the summer, listening to and talking about music, watching comedy and action movies, and playing computer games.
Robert is preceded in death by his father, Robert Wesley Petermann of Lexington, Mississippi, and his mother, Patricia Lorraine Petermann of St. Louis, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kathy Gaskin Petermann; daughters Leslie Petermann of Pearl, Mississippi; Tara McGinty and her husband Jason of Benton, Louisiana; Ashley McFarland and her husband Thomas (TJ) of Minden, Louisiana; Kasey Petermann of Dubach, Louisiana; twin brother, Michael Wesley Petermann and fiancé Beth Gilliland of Carrollton, Mississippi; grandchildren Wesley Law, Caleb and Molly McGinty, Brayden Vining, Liam Mason, Olivia and Rylee McFarland.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston, Louisiana, on Sunday, December 7th, 2025, with Reverend Jason Wiley officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be 1:30pm to 2:30pm at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, Louisiana.
