Techsters host South Alabama in TAC

RUSTON, La. — Louisiana Tech (3-3) brings a perfect home record to the court tonight to take on South Alabama (6-1) in a non-conference matchup for the first game in the month of December.

During the Techsters’ 3-0 home start, they’re averaging 96 points per game, including a 121 scoring effort against Louisiana Christian and a 93 point dismantling of then 4-0 Stephen F. Austin. The Lady Techsters never trailed at any point at home, winning by an average margin of 46. Below are rankings of Louisiana Tech’s offense in Conference USA:

The last action the Lady Techsters saw in November was a loss at #15 Baylor in Waco November 26th. The offense struggled the worst it has all season, with lows in scoring, field goal percentage, and three-point percentage. Paris Bradley was the lone double-figure scorer, while Hillary Dawson lead in rebounding for the first time this season, and Joy Madison-Key led in assists for the third time.

Paris Bradley led the team in scoring in November with 14.3 points per game, good for eighth in the conference. Bradley has led the Lady Techsters in scoring twice this year and has scored in double figures in every game, the only active player to do so. She also leads the team in assists with 22, setting her at third in the conference with 3.7 per game. The guard has also led the team in assists three times, tied with Joy Madison-Key for the most.

Jordan Marshall has fortified the paint all season. The Little Rock native led the Lady Techsters in rebounding five out of the six games in November, including a dominant 18 rebound game against Louisiana Christian, the most since Alexus Malone had 18 in 2018. Marshall’s 30 offensive rebounds ranks 24th nationally and second in the conference.

Jianna Morris has been lethal from deep. Morris is third in the conference with 17 three pointers and is tied second in three-point percentage, shooting 37.0 percent from beyond the arc.

ABOUT SOUTH ALABAMA (6-1)
The Jaguars are red hot off a 6-1 November, facing only one opponent on the road. The last action USA saw was a 21-point home win against Florida A&M. South Alabama shot 43.3 percent from the field, including four players shooting above 50 percent. The Jaguars defense held the Rattlers to zero three-point field goals.

Amyah Sutton leads the team in points with 12.3 per game, followed closely by Cordasia Harris with 11.9. Harris leads the team in rebounding, averaging eight per game. Chrysta Narcisse paces the Jaguars in assists with 27, good for 3.9 per game.

Louisiana Tech owns an impressive 24-0 series lead over South Alabama. The most recent matchup was a back-and-forth 78-70 Lady Techsters victory in Mobile last season, highlighted by 12 lead swaps and seven ties. Jianna Morris paced the squad with 20 points, including shooting 10-11 from the foul line.
