Funeral services for Benny Joe Carswell, 86 of Dubach, LA will be held on at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston, LA. Interment will follow at Fellowship Cemetery in Dubach. A Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston.
Benny was born on September 6, 1939, in Carthage, TX and went to his heavenly home on December 30, 2025. After graduating college, He worked for Arkla Gas for 35 years and retired as Regional Supervisor. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Dubach, LA, where He served as a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and was also a member of the Choir.
He is preceded in death by his parents Carl and LouAlma Carswell, his sister Carlene Hooper, and great grandson Avett Jackson.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 64 years, Barbara Carswell of Dubach, LA; daughter, Marci Mathis and husband Sammy of Dubach, LA; Son, Johnny Carswell and wife Kathy of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Lyndsi Jackson, Hank Mathis, Ashley Payne, Emorie Campbell, Ben Carswell; 11 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way; siblings, Joycie Mae Jernigan, Margueritte Carswell, Nancy Lue Gibbs, Carl ”Buddy “Carswell, Jr. and wife Mary Sue, Judy Sherlon Wilkins and husband Ricky; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Pallbearers are Ben Carswell, Hank Mathis, Mathew Campbell, Wes Jackson, Noah Jackson, and Terry Hooper
Honorary Pallbearers are Gaylon Spears, Chris Crittenden, Damon Crittenden, Terrell Spears, and Sammy Mathis.
