Remembering Ryan Andrew Byrd

A celebration of life service for Ryan Andrew Byrd was held on Saturday January 3, 2026, at 11:30 am at The Bridge Community Church (2301 North Trenton in Ruston). Ryan was born September 9, 2013, in West Monroe, and passed away December 27, 2025, in Ruston.

Ryan was full of energy and made everything exciting. He was creative, inventive, athletic, and an artist in his own right. He had an unusual love and notable talent for creating with duct tape, superglue, and cardboard. He loved to sing and dance and had a wide range of musical interests. He brought joy and mischief everywhere he went and filled any room he bounced into. He left an impression on every person who had the opportunity to cross his path, no matter how brief the encounter. He was not a rule follower but was loved by all the teachers and adults in his life. His curly hair and magnetic smile attracted friends in every circle, especially the girls. He loved to dress to impress in his suits and ties. He never backed down from a challenge or met someone he thought he couldn’t outwrestle. He loved riding his dirtbike with or without a shirt, climbing, and impressing kids at the skatepark. He loved to explore and found treasures on every adventure.

Ryan leaves behind an unconventional and extensive loving family to cherish his memory. He is survived by his parents, Brian and Sara Byrd; siblings, Kyrie, Treydon, Patrick, and Alexa. Grandparents Debbie and Jay Falardeau, Sheila and Shelby West, Tim and Sara Byrd. Biological parents Kimberly Wilkinson and Bryan Benson, aunt and uncle Candi and Matt Simons. There are too many other aunts, uncles, cousins, foster families and friends to name here, who were also loved by him and impacted his short but full life.

Ryan will forever be remembered this side of Heaven for his relentless antics and mischievous laughter which will now be Jesus’s responsibility!

In lieu of flowers, the family is collecting funds for a specific cause in the foster community in Ryan’s memory.
