It’s a small thing, but loved the lighted Christmas wreaths at the top of Wyly Tower during the holidays. Hope they return next Christmas.

The Power Building Apartments in the old power plant on East Mississippi Avenue are a site to behold. The renovation of the plant that hasn’t seen use in decades is nothing short of amazing. I was a bit worried about the new Power & Water District maintaining its historic character but Micheal Echols and his team have created a masterpiece of adaptive reuse.

In December, the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office inmate litter crew cleaned 74 miles of parish roads, collecting 9,420 pounds of trash. The totals for the crew for 2025 boggle the mind–1,276 miles of parish roads cleaned with the crew working 7,603 manhours to collect 177,850 pounds of litter. That’s 89 tons of trash from our roadways. Kudos to Sheriff Stephen Williams and the Sheriff’s Office and shame on those who litter our parish.
