
Geraldine Stevenson, age 84, passed away peacefully on January 7th, 2025. She was born on September 27th, 1941, in Cloutierville, Louisiana to Joe and Rachel Watson.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Richard Stevenson; her parents, Joe Watson and Rachel Watson, and her siblings, Mary Gordon, Annie Bell Gallien, Dorthy McMillian, Tommy Watson, Bill Watson, Robert Watson, Maxine Maggio, Daisy Bordelon, and Agnes Thomas.
Geraldine is survived by her beloved daughter, Carla Roundtree and husband Bill Roundtree of Ruston, Louisiana; her grandchildren, Kirsti Hill and husband Brent Hill of New Orleans, Louisiana and Heath Roundtree of Mill Creek, Washington; her treasured Great-Grandchildren, Tessa Hill, Triss Hill and Tinsley Hill. She is also survived by her brother, Sam Watson of Winnfield, Louisiana, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Geraldine loved the Lord and attended First Baptist Church of Ruston, Louisiana. She devoted 17 years of her professional life as a nursing home administrator at Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jonesboro Louisiana, where she cared deeply for both residents and staff.
In her early years, Geraldine found great joy tending to her plants and roses, often spending hours working in her yard. She was also known as an excellent cook and baker, especially for her homemade pies and cakes. Her Grandchildren eagerly requested her pies and cakes for holidays and special occasions, traditions that will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
Geraldine was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. While our hearts mourn her passing and we know we will meet again one day.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Alpine Nursing Home in Ruston, Louisiana and Premier Hospice Care of Ruston for the kindness, dignity and loving care shown during this time.
Interment will be private and take place at a later date for immediate family at Kilpatrick’s Memorial Gardens in Ruston, LA.
