Stolen car stopped in Ruston

A North Carolina woman was arrested in Ruston after he was stopped in a reportedly stolen vehicle.

A Louisiana state trooper spotted Diamond A. Rice, 30, of Greensboro, North Carolina, on January 12 after receiving a report of a stolen vehicle traveling westbound on Interstate 20 near the Lincoln Parish – Ouachita Parish line.

The trooper spotted the white Hyundai Elantra with a Georgia license plate at about mile post 88 on I-20. The Hyundai was stopped at La. Highway 33 just off I-20 and Rice was taken into custody.

Rice said the owner of the vehicle let her borrow it two days earlier and she was headed to Shreveport. The status of the vehicle was confirmed as stolen. It was also determined Rice did not have a valid driver’s license. She was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for possession of stolen things and no driver’s license.
