Ruston Police arrested a Shreveport woman early Monday morning after she was found in another person’s car and refused to exit and then allegedly actively resisted arrest.
Qualyana Carmea Chrishell Brooks, 23, was arrested shortly after midnight on January 12.
Officers responded to the University Crossing Apartments regarding a complaint of a woman refusing to exit a vehicle. The registered owner of the vehicle said Brooks was refusing to get out of the rear passenger seat of the van. She initially refused an officer’s directive to get out of the van.
After officers backed away and gave her a second chance, Brooks exited the vehicle. Officers asked for identification, and she said no and attempted to walk away. When an officer grabbed her arm, Brooks began actively resisting, attempting to swing at an officer before she was taken into custody.
Brooks was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for a simple assault, resisting an officer, and criminal trespass.
