Funeral services for Teresa Jo Brazzel, age 61 of Dubach, LA will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at Living Water Full Gospel Church with Rev. Scott Jennings and Rev. Dewayne Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery in Dubach under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.
Teresa was born on October 16, 1964 in Bernice, LA to Nelda Ray and Billy Joe Youngblood and she passed away peacefully, Friday, January 16, 2026. Throughout her life, she carried a resilient strength, a caring heart, and a devotion to family that never wavered. Teresa was a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and a faithful follower of Christ. Her presence was steady – the kind that made people feel loved, welcomed, and understood.
Teresa worried quietly, celebrated loudly, nurtured, encouraged, and loved fiercely and without condition. No one ever doubted where they stood with her. Her greatest joy was her family and her family roots were deep, and she carried those bonds with pride. Teresa shared her life with her husband, Keith Brazzel for 44 years, building a home grounded in love, endurance, faith, and hope, a home where love never failed.
Teresa had a special love for flowers, especially roses. She had a natural touch – an eye for beauty, a patience for growth, and a gentle hand that could bring life and color wherever she planted. Her flowers were more than decoration; they were an expression of her spirit- nurturing, peaceful, and boldly radiant. Teresa loved butterflies. She delighted in their delicate wings and gentle grace. Spoken with warmth and a smile, Teresa was known to say “I love you more than all the little butterflies.” Those words became part of her signature love – tender, playful, and sincere -just like the gardens she tended with such care. Near the end, one of the last thoughts Teresa shared was the hope of finding peace through faith in: “A Place Where the Roses Never Fade.”
Teresa was preceded in death by her mother, Nelda Youngblood. She is survived by her father, Billy Joe Youngblood; husband, Keith Brazzel; children, Brandon Keith Brazzel and wife Kathryn, Magon and husband Adam Pilgreen, and Adam Brazzel; grandchildren: Parker Brazzel, Remington Brazzel, Isaiah Brazzel, Billy Brazzel, Landon Pilgreen, Sofia Brazzel, Mahavalyn Brazzel, and Izabella Brazzel; sisters, Cindy and husband Donnie Horton and Sandra and husband Scott Jennings; and a host of other family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Brazzel, Adam Brazzel, Remington Brazzel, Adam Pilgreen, Jared Jennings, and Dustin Brazzel. Honorary pallbearers are Landon Pilgreen, Isaiah Brazzel, and Billy Brazzel.
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4
We believe Teresa has stepped into that garden of eternal peace – where pain is gone, where love is complete, where flowers never fade, and butterflies rest upon everlasting blooms. A place prepared by her Savior, where her soul now rests in perfect comfort. We will miss her voice, her care, and her presence in our lives, but we will carry her forward – in how we love our families, how we persevere through hardship, and in how we tend the gardens of our own lives, just as she taught us. So today we do not say goodbye forever; but instead “We will see you soon.”
Your race is finished. Your crown is laid before the Lord. Your roses are now forever in bloom.
Visitation will be from 12:30 PM until service time, Tuesday, at Living Water Full Gospel Church.
