A Dubach man was arrested last week by state police for his second DWI after he was stopped for speeding near Vienna.
Khaleb Williams, 23, was arrested on January 17 on several traffic charges in addition to DWI.
A Louisiana state trooper clocked Williams on radar at 70 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone. When the trooper approached Williams, he detected the odor of alcoholic beverages. Williams admitted he had been drinking beer.
Williams performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was arrested. An opened beer was found in the vehicle. A records check showed Williams’s driver’s license was under suspension.
Williams was taken to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center where he refused to submit to a breath test. A search warrant was obtained to draw Williams’s blood for analysis. After the blood was obtained at the Northern Louisiana Medical Center, Williams was booked at the detention center for second offense DWI, driving under suspension, open container, and speeding.
