Lincoln Parish students out Monday; Cedar Creek open; Lincoln Prep goes virtual

Staff Reports

Lincoln Parish Schools will be out one more day while Lincoln Preparatory is going virtual Monday and Cedar Creek School is returning to class.

After being out all of last week due to the ice storm, Lincoln Parish School students have one more day of a winter “vacation” due to what the school board office said are concerns about ice on rural routes that could negatively impact travel.

“After consulting with local law enforcement, we have been advised that there is still icing in some areas of the parish,” read a message sent out by the Lincoln Parish School Office. “Students will not report to school (Monday, Feb. 2). All faculty and staff will report to work to plan and prepare for student’s return on Tuesday.”

Lincoln Preparatory will send students online for a virtual day while teachers and staff are expected to report to work Monday.

Cedar Creek School will return to class Monday morning, according to Principal Kenny Henderson.
