Remembering Amy Lou Boatright

Amy Lou Boatright, age 62 of Ruston, LA was born April 19, 1963 in Ruston to Bobbie Jean Loyd and Willie Paul Boatright and passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 in West Monroe, LA.

Amy was a member of First Baptist Church of Ruston, where she grew up working with her mother in the nursey for many years. She worked at Franke Consumer Products in Ruston for over 15 years. Amy enjoyed working in the yard, doing all sorts of puzzles including crossword puzzles, and liked to cook with chicken casserole being her specialty. She loved Ruston High School football, enjoyed watching Louisiana Tech football, and was a huge New Orleans Saints fan.

Amy was a loving mother and grandmother, she was even a second mother to a couple of her son’s friends, including Wesley Bradley and Bobby Singleton. She enjoyed traveling and seeing the country between Louisiana and California, as she would often travel to Palm Springs, CA to see her grandson, Banks.

Amy was preceded in death by her parents, Bobbie Jean and Willie Paul Boatright. She is survived by her sons, John Dooley and wife Tanya, and Ryan Dooley and wife Natalie; one amazing grandson, Banks Paul Dooley; sister, Janet Turner; nana to Beau Palmer; numerous nieces and nephews; and her ex-husband and friend, Ricky Dooley.

A memorial service will be held April 25, 2026 at Cook Cemetery in Ruston with a time to be determined.
