Louisiana State Police arrested a Ruston man last week after he was stopped for a traffic violation and it was found he was wanted on felony charges in Texas.
Malik Armond Mason, 27, was stopped in Ruston by a state trooper on February 4 for operating a vehicle with an inoperative headlight.
A records check showed Mason was wanted by the Fort Worth, Texas, Police Department on a warrant for burglary and an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was also wanted by the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear in Third District Court on a 2020 case of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
Mason was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center. Fort Worth intends to extradite Mason to face the Texas charges.
