Joseph “Joe” Carl Gaido, age 85, of Ruston, Louisiana, passed away on February 4, 2026, at Reeves Memorial Medical Center in Bernice, LA.

Joe was born on September 16, 1940. He made his home in Ruston, LA where he built a life centered on family and those he loved most. Joe is survived by his wife, Joyce Gaido. He is also survived by his son, Chris Gaido and his daughter, Kelly Gaido Gilliland and her husband, Barry.

Joe was a proud grandfather to C.J. Holloway and his wife, Carlie, and to Sarah Gilliland. He was also blessed with a great-granddaughter, Caroline Holloway, who brought him immense joy.

Known to many simply as “Papaw,” he will be remembered for his steady presence, his love for his family, and the legacy of care and dedication he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family has chosen to remember Joe privately, and no funeral or memorial service will be held.
