A Farmerville man was killed in a crash on U.S. 167 near Dodson in Winn Parish Sunday, according to Louisiana State Police.
Miguel Angel Bello-Castillo, 44, was announced dead at the scene.
State Police at Troop E responded to the scene of a one-vehicle crash at around 9:10 a.m. Sunday. Troopers determined Bello-Castillo was driving a sedan south on U. S. 167 when, for reasons not yet known, he lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle left the roadway, struck a ditch embankment, and flipped over.
Authorities said Bello-Castillo was wearing a seatbelt, but was killed by the impact and was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger who was also restrained received moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
LSP said toxicology samples were taken for analysis. Troopers suspect impairment may have contributed to the crash.
The investigation is continuing, LSP said.
