Ruston search warrant led to drug arrest

A search warrant executed by the Lincoln Parish Narcotics Enforcement Team led to the arrest of a Ruston man on several drug charges.

Currwyn Griffin, 19, was arrested shortly before 5 a.m. April 15 at his West Barnett Springs Avenue apartment.

When LPNET arrived at the location, Griffin was found standing outside the apartment. He was taken into custody. Griffin informed officers where illegal narcotics, paraphernalia and a firearm were located inside the residence.


Recovered in the search was a firearm with additional ammunition, a large amount of cash, five large glass jars of marijuana, packaging material and digital scales.

Griffin was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of the drug free zone law and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled substance.
