A shoplifting investigation at Ruston’s Walmart Supercenter led to the arrest of a West Monroe woman on drug charges, according to police.
Kristi Ann Jones, 37, was arrested about 10:35 p.m. last Wednesday after Ruston Police officers responded to Walmart regarding a shoplifting complaint.
According to an officer’s report, police learned a male and female involved in the incident had left the store on foot and were later located near McDonald’s on North Service Road.

The report stated Jones admitted to possessing a purple pill bottle and a black zipper bag containing suspected narcotics. During a search, officers located 22 hydrocodone and acetaminophen tablets, three buprenorphine and naloxone sublingual film packages, and 22 gabapentin capsules.
Jones stated the narcotics were prescribed to her, but officers were unable to locate proof of prescriptions in her possession. The gabapentin was in a pill bottle for another drug with the recipient’s name scratched off.
Jones was arrested and taken to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center and booked on charges of possession of Schedule III narcotics and possession of Schedule V narcotics.
